In my humble opinion the advancement of GPS is a wonderful thing for us amateur golfers. I believe it is one of the most effective, important tools that anyone can have in their golf bag.
I purchased the Sky Caddie 2 two years ago. I have not regretted
the decision one bit. I find it to be an invaluable piece of my
equipment. It has saved me many strokes since I bought it. It has sped
up my game because I no longer have to pace off the yardage. My
approach shots are more accurate than ever before. I now know the
yardage to the green from where ever my tee shot comes to rest. My Sky
Caddie GPS gives me the yardage to the front, center and to the back of
the green. Knowing the distance to different portions of the green
helps me if there are front and back pin placements.
” When a course is professionally mapped, the Sky Caddie GPS can
do amazing things. It can track up to 40 targets per hole. The new SG4
can give you the yardage to 3 targets at the same time. Let\’s say
there is a creek in front of the green. The GPS can give you the
distance to the creek and the distance to the front of the green, now
you know how far your ball must carry to stay out of the creek.
” Also when a course is professionally mapped, the Sky Caddie
GPS will show you the shape of the green. If you were to miss the
fairway with your drive, it will show you the shape of the green from
the angle you are approaching it from.
” If you are from the United States there are thousands of golf
courses that have been professionally mapped out already. There are not
nearly as many here in Canada but the number is growing every year.
” You can map out a course yourself. It won\’t give you
everything that it can if the course is done professionally, but you
can map the front, center and the back of the green. It\’s very easy to
do. I have mapped several courses that I play regularly. It takes about
a minute per green and the time it takes you to walk or ride the
course. Too easy.
Buying my Sky Caddie GPS was easily one of the best purchases I
have made. Golf Digest calls it one of the best innovative products to
come along in years. If you are serious about your game the Sky Caddie
GPS is a must have gadget.
